Bachelor Season 14 "Spoilers"

This season of the Bachelor is like one giant publicity stunt after another! Last night was incredibly disappointing and deceiving after ABC had been running episode 3 previews showing Tenley supposedly telling Jake she is pregnant. At first I thought I was hallucinating these commercials, but I did a little research and she definitely is shown saying that.

It turned out to be a joke and was just a publicity stunt to get viewers to watch the show!

Apparently, Tenley told Jake she was pregnant as a joke to lighten the mood, and then ABC deleted the scene from the actual episode but played her telling him that just to get people to tune in.

I'm also shocked that Vienna is still on the show. No one likes her and she doesn't really seem to go with Jake. However, several gossip sources say that she ends up being Jake's final choice!

Here's some Bachelor spoilers dug up from theHollywoodgossip.com -
  • Jake has a 2-on-1 date and sends both girls home. Don’t know when it occurs or who the two girls are, but neither gets a rose.
  • The final four rose recipients: Tenley, Gia, Ali, and Vienna.
  • Reportedly, Ali voluntarily leaves the show at this point. Regardless, she’s the one eliminated after the four girls' hometown dates.
  • The final three: Tenley, Gia, and Vienna. Gia's gone next.
We'll see as the season progresses if these predictions are correct!

The Business of Being Born

I recently watched a documentary called, "The Business of Being Born" It was really interesting. In a nutshell it's about how America has ruined the birth experience for women with drugs like pitocin, epidurals, vaccums, c-sections, etc. I didn't agree with everything said in the film, but it did make me want to strive to have a natural birth.

It said we've gotten away from letting a woman's body do what nature's intended it to do by using all of these medical interventions. It compared the US to other countries that don't do as many interventions and they actually have better infant mortality rates and better outcomes for moms. During the movie you get to see several women give birth (most of which at home in a birthing tub), which was really neat.

16 Weeks Pregnant

babies

So as of Friday I am 16 weeks! I'm feeling pretty good these days (knock on wood). I have not felt the baby kick yet, although I'm not sure I would be able to tell even if I was feeling it! I have my monthly OB appointment on Tuesday and we'll find out when our next ultrasound will be.

We are still undecided if we will want to find out the sex of the baby. A part of me would like it to be a surprise and a part of me is dying to find out! There's always the risk of it being wrong too. I thought that didn't happen anymore, but a lady was telling me just the other day that her friend was supposed to have a little boy - 3 ultrasounds said it was a boy, then she gave birth and it was a girl. The poor mom had her whole nursery, shower, everything in boy colors!

The bad thing about keeping it a surprise is that you have to do your nursery gender neutral or wait til the baby is born to put up curtains, linens, and wall decor. You also end up getting a ton of yellow and green which is fine in my mind for boys, but if I have a little girl, I'm gonna want to dress her up in pink and put a bunch bows and frilly ribbons on her! We'll think about it for awhile and see what we decide.

My belly is getting huge, although I'm not gaining much weight, which worries me a little. Just last night I was walking to the restroom in WOW Diner and some little boy said, "Look that lady's pregnant!" I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing...

We are tossing around several names, but no decisions have been made yet. Jeremy really likes the idea of naming his first born son after him. I'm not totally sold on that idea because I am worried it will be confusing for people - Big Jeremy or Little Jeremy? Plus I think it would be nice for our son to have his own name, not his father's name. Maybe it's more of a guy thing?

Girls names are easier and we have a list of about 5 that we like. The hard part is finding a name that is not too common but not too weird. It's also because it seems like I find a really cute name and then I find out someone else just named their baby that name. For example, I really like the name Isabel or Isabella, but it's on the top 5 list this year and there seems to be a ton of Isabel babies around. That kind of made me like the name less. We'll keep thinking and see what we come up with.
