Jenna's First Halloween!

Miss Jenna celebrated her very first Halloween!

We dressed her as a little baby cow (Thanks, Barb for the costume!).

She was a Chick-fil-a Cow to be exact!

Jenna & Cousin Jayden...

Mom & Dad dressed up as cows too!

After we took this picture we had to remove Jenna's sign because she had eaten the top portion of it!

We tried to make the rounds to our various family member's houses. Miss Jenna didn't last too long though... she was a MAD cow and wanted a nap with mommy :-)

On another note, I'm totally disgusted with Halloween right now. When we got home from taking Jenna around we discovered our two pumpkins were destroyed on our porch. Someone had punched in the designs, leaving them with a gaping whole all mangled. This really upsets me. I mean, who does that??? It makes me so mad.

We also got some trick or treaters that were a little too old to be trick-or-treating and some who weren't even in costume....geez!

Goodbye mom van...and cute Halloween Printable

So I haven't posted in awhile...I've been busy this week with school. I'm so excited to think in just 6 weeks (5 if you subtract Thanksgiving), I'll be finished with school and have a Master's Degree! Whoo hoo!

This weekend my husband and I purchased a new truck! He had to get one for work. They have a reimbursement program that pretty much pays for most of the payment and mileage. We got a 2010 Ford F-150 Lariat. I LOVE IT!

We splurged and got all of the bells and whistles - heated & cooled seats, leather interior, GPS system, voice navigation.

Buying a car is like going to the dentist. I absolutely hate dealing with the sales people... (no offense to anyone who sells cars). I like to look at some and go home and think about it. Sales people always want you to purchase right on the spot.

I also hate how they present their financing deals... you get a cash rebate OR 0% financing. Do I look stupid? There's no such thing as 0%... you're paying the interest somewhere (in the total purchase price of the vehicle), that's why you don't get 0% if you take the rebates! DUH!

We decided to get rid of my beloved Dodge Journey, a.k.a my wannabe mom van. I loved that car, so I am sad to see it go. However, we decided to trade it in for the new truck so we won't have two payments. With my hubby's job paying for most of the new truck, it will be like we don't have a payment at all!

RIP Dodge Journey... You will be missed.

Fortunately, I still have a vehicle - the Toyota Tacoma - to drive Miss Daisy Jenna around in. And it's paid for!

On another note, I opened my inbox this morning and found the cutest printable idea for Halloween. I won't have time to try it, but I'm gonna save it for next year.

It's this adorable mini bat candy cover from Skip to My Lou. Isn't it cute? Check out her blog for the printable and instructions. (photo from Skip to My Lou)

Every girl needs a good brush

I love a good makeup brush. In my opinion every girl needs at least 3 good brushes - a face, eye, and lip brush. I received the opportunity to review one of Sigma's newest brushes, the Round top synthetic kabuki F82 brush made from Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.
I'm loving this brush. It's a super soft, super dense, face brush offered by Sigma. It can be used to apply foundation, primer, concealer, or bronzer. I tried the brush using concealer and bronzer and it worked great for both.

This brush achieves good coverage without lines or splotches. My favorite feature is the softness of the brush. So far, it's also proved to be easy to clean and I haven't had a problem with bristles falling out.

If you'd like to try the F82, you can buy yours from their site for $16.00. I'd also love to try their eye kit or travel kit.

For more info on Sigma products visit them at www.sigmabeauty.com. Sign up for their newsletter for product specials and promos or follow them on Twitter @sigmamakeup and Facebook.

I received a complimentary F82 Sigma Brush. I did not receive compensation for this review. The opinions expressed in my review are my honest opinions of the product.

DIY: Halloween Cookie Jars

I made these DIY Cookie Jars last night. They were super easy! I filled the jars with flour, Reeses Pieces, Baking Soda, Sugar and Brown Sugar. I attached a tag with the instructions on the back. The jars make delicious Halloween Cookies.

I found the recipe and instructions over at The Crafty Nest blog.

The Crafty Nest

I ended up using a different printable for the tags because I didn't have any sticky labels. I found the printable tag here at Living Locurto blog.

Review & Promo code for a FREE SevenSling

A few weeks ago, I took advantage of a promo code to get a FREE SevenSling (all I had to do was pay the shipping).

I LOVE my SevenSling and so does Miss Jenna. What I like about the SevenSlings is the fact that you order your sling in a custom size (it's not a one-size fits all sling). This is awesome in my opinion because there's no wrapping or adjusting involved. You just put on the sling and insert your baby! Easy and simple!

The SevenSlings come in so many fabulous colors and patterns. I chose the black & white damask pattern and love it because it doesn't show stains.

The good news is that SevenSlings is offering another promo code to get your free sling! All you have to do is go to their site, pick out your sling and enter promo code HALLOWEEN. Their slings normally run $48 plus about $12 shipping. Now all you have to do is pay the shipping!

Review: KT Tunstall "Tiger Suit"

I recently received the opportunity to review KT Tunstall's new album "Tiger Suit" released October 5. To buy preview the album click here. To buy the album on Amazon click here.

Most of us know KT from her hit songs, "Big Black Horse & The Cherry Tree," and "Suddenly I See" (some of my favs). KT Tunstall is quite a vocally-talented young lady. She kind of reminds me of a mix between Joan Jett, Sara Bareilles, Pink, and Colbie Callait (if that makes any sense at all). Her music usually puts me in an upbeat, girl-power type of mood.

Her new album offers the catchy pop hit, "Fade Like A Shadow." Some of my other favs are "Glamour Puss" (another upbeat catchy song) and "Madame Trudeaux." I also enjoyed some of her softer ballads on the album, "Still a Weirdo," and "The Entertainer."

I think if you're a loyal KT fan you'll probably enjoy this album. However, if you only like KT's popular hits, I would wait to buy the whole album and only purchase the tunes you enjoy. Even though I enjoyed some of the songs, there are sill some tunes that are pretty unmemorable, and I don't really see this album climbing the charts like her last hits.

For more info on KT Tunstall:

I received a complimentary copy of the album as part of the One2One Network's review team. I am entered to win a gift card through One2One Network by participating. The opinions expressed in my review are my honest opinions of the product.

New Side Job?

There are dozens of "home party" direct-selling companies offering women like myself the opportunity to earn extra income. I've always enjoyed attending these parties, but have only recently considered becoming a consultant to perhaps earn a little extra cash here and there.

I've heard of Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Silpada Jewelry, and Lia Sophia. I would really love to become a consultant for a jewelry company (I do love me some pretty jewelry!) however, I feel like Silpada & Lia Sophia are sooo expensive!

I recently came across a company called Initial Outfitters. They are fairly new and offer customizable jewelry, accessories, and gifts, as well as beautiful non-customizable pieces. I browsed through their catalog and they have excellent prices which are more affordable than some of the other direct selling jewelry brands.

The other nice thing is that there are no consultants in my area, so if I decide to do it, I'll be the first. Consultants earn 30% commission on sales plus more if they recruit other consultants (your typical pyramid scheme). I am realistic in the fact that I know I would not get rich doing this because I wouldn't commit to making it a full-time career, but it would be nice to make a couple hundred bucks here and there, host fun parties, and get to wear beautiful jewelry.

Has anyone had any luck with direct selling? Any experience with Initial Outfitters?
