Most of the time you can find me outside. If it's not raining, and I am at home, I am probably out back. We have invested $0 into the interior of The Little Yellow House in Casper, but we have definitely spent some money and time on the yard.
Weeding, mowing, soiling, gardening, trimming, dumpster diving for adirondack chairs...you name it, we did it. I'm okay with the heavy tilt in the favor of the yard versus the living room... or bedroom or office or literally ANYTHING else. It's where we spend most of our time, and I love watching all the birds, feeling the breeze, and sunbathing on the brick patio.
That's why this morning, when I didn't feel like stretching or meditating, it was no surprise that I decided to read out on the patio. A simple pleasure that gave me good vibes all day. Coffee to my left, puppies to my right, angry bird keeping an eye on things above me...I was all set.
I didn't read more than the introduction. But the simple act gave me a happy start to my day.
Additional items to note:
- A suspiscioulsy inactive inbox. It was one of those days where I kept refreshing to make sure things were coming through. Very rare.
- No dive bombs from the angry bird. I keep mentioning her...she has a nest in the lilac bush and the last week she has been on PATROL. She dive bombs the dogs, chirps aggressively from every perch she can find, and fights off anything that comes within a yard of her nest. It's super intense. But today she just did her rounds without a peep. Maybe she realizes we aren't a threat...
- My wardrobe and shoe collection is getting exciting again. After almost a year of downsizing, it's nice to look at my closet and see...things. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to end up anywhere near where I was before the backpack trial, but it's nice to see some options in there!
- I'm feeling like myself. I feel like I am getting my sense of humor back a little more, taking things a little more lightly, and just... I don't know ... being myself again. It comes in waves, but when it's here, it's really nice and ... liberating?
That's it for now! Garden party tomorrow and I can't WAIT to have a bunch of our Casper friends together for some pasta and lawn games!
Until next time,
