This is a true simple things post today. I don't really have a whole lot...it was just a really simple, productive, day.
We are prepping for the dinner party on Saturday, and just in the knick of time, Chris got a truck from work. We went and got all of the table settings together and then emptied the bed of all the branches, and went to Petco to get the pallets! I was worried they wouldn't be there anymore, but they were.
We drove home in the old truck with the summer sun setting, old country playing fuzzy through the radio console, and dust from the seats speckling the air on the inside. Then we got home, and while Chris unloaded the truck and watered the garden, I washed all the new dishes while looking out the window as the sun set.
That was it. And I was truly grateful.
Other things that made the list:
- When inspiration hits. I am slowing down to listen, and it seems to be paying off!
- Random gifts. Chris brought a book home from Telluride by an author he knew I had read before. It's the simple things that mean the most. Like paying attention to the authors I like.
- Coming in under budget on the table settings! That never happens for me.
- Doing the dishes while the summer sun sets while the rest of the fam hangs out outside.
That's it! Pretty simple ;)
Until next time,
