Maybe I should say "lake day," but it felt more like a beach day to me. After we woke up and cleaned the patio, kitchen, and living room of all dinner party remnants, we loaded up the car and headed to Pathfinder Reservoir to soak up some sun and just...relax.
We ended up having a pretty good spread from leftovers in the fridge, so we grabbed some crackers and a little more hummus, paired that with a few Coors Lights, and let me tell you - it was perfect.
I wasn't up to hiking down into our usual spot (I was hungover, remember) so we just walked along the shoreline until we found this awesome little cove where we could be by ourselves and the dogs were a little pinned in so we could keep an eye on them. (They still just ran up the cliff, but whatever...it was still better than a never ending coast line for them to disappear to.)
We ate, drank, made out, and just talked. We decided to leave when flocks of bids just started hovering over us, and one of their #2's almost hit me in the face. I feel like I have a lot of bird issues lately? Is this some sort of sign I should be worried about? Anyways, you should have seen me trying to climb back UP the cliff in my Birkenstocks, holding my purse in one hand, Glady's leash in the other, and a blanket strung around my shoulders. We couldn't stop laughing, but after a few slides and Chris repeating "i got you, I got you" over and over, I finally made it to the top hahaha.
Then we came home, did laundry, watched The Ranch, then GOT (we are rewatching every season SMH) and fell asleep. Damn decent Sunday if you ask me.
Other moments to note:
- Chris and I cleaning up after the party at our own pace. No place to be, no rush, just one thing at a time.
- Hungover Chris. This guy gets happier and goofier after a night of drinking. He is even sassier than normal and I just LOVE it.
- Morning coffee while sitting in the garden and dreaming about what we want our life to look like in 5, 10, 50 years.
- Beautiful Sunday weather, and a littttttle bit of a summer sunburn :)
Until next time,
