I'm a Mess

I'm a Mess

Just a normal day around here. Still dragging from the weekend, but I found a handful of things to be grateful for...and at the top of that list is OXICLEAN. Seriously. Nerding out over how this product never seems to fail me.

2 years ago I spilled wine on my mattress one night when I was washing my sheets and using the bare bed to fold laundry. I lived with those annoying stains every time I washed my sheets until one day I decided to do something about it. I tried bleach. Didn't get the stain out, but I did manage to drop some on my cream carpet. I'm pretty good at making things worse...

Then I decided to use OxiClean. I mixed a little in a mason jar with warm water, poured it on the stain, let it sit for 10 minutes or so, came in with a rag and it just wiped away! I will never forget that magical moment.

Fast forward to this weekend when we played games in the yard after dinner. I don't know the name of this one, but it's the game where you have two poles on either side of the yard and each pole has a beer bottle on top. You throw the frisbee at the pole and try to knock the bottle off...

Well, in an attempt to catch said bottle, I spilled red wine all over the front of my new Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt AND all down the front of my white jeans. Not just a drop either...like from my shoulders to below my knees. I threw them in the wash and it got the redness out, but there were dark purple stains deeply set in both pieces of clothing. I decided to try my trusty OxiClean.

1 hour soaking in a bucket, and a load of laundry later and the stains are GONE. Maybe other people don't get off on this type of thing, but as you can see from my two examples...I drink a lot of wine, and I spill a lot of wine. It's just who I am. So thank you OxiClean for helping me embrace myself fully ;)

Other items to note:

  • We have new little birds in the birdhouse! Chris reset it after the nasty fight that knocked it down last week (I maintain that it was the Blue Jay that did it...I found a blue feather in the bush under the wrecked bird house...) and now they are all coming back!
  • The puppies just chill in their kennels while I work. I used the blankets I bought for the garden party as little beds for their kennels and now they just hang out in there all day. It's the best!
  • Calm breezes that rustle all the leaves on the trees.
  • Closing a deal I have been working on. The first of many this month hopefully. I have a big number I really want to hit. Send me vibes. Preferably helpful ones.

That oughta do it. Nothing too cool, but that's what this is all about, right? The simple things.

Until next time,

- Yuri
