White Wine Spritzers
Don't call it a comeback.
As of late, I have realized that I enjoy my nights (and next mornings) much more if I hold myself to a 2 drink minimum. (College Yuri is rolling over in her grave right now...) Part of it is just wanting clarity into every second of my life, and the other part is that as I get older, I am realizing I am much more prone to anxiety and depression than I ever have been, and copious amounts of alcohol just don't seem to help that. It just takes me too long to start feeling like myself again.
Since it's summer, and I am trying to milk as much out of 2 drinks as possible, white wine spritzers have re entered this old soul's life. A little dry white, a little Pellegrino, some ice cubes, and I am one happy camper. You can make fun of me all you want, I love it.
The other night I had cherries on hand, so I threw those in there as well. The cherries taste SO sweet after a sip of dry white wine. Heaven. I have also been throwing in a couple basil leaves as another alternative which is extra refreshing!
TBH, I am drinking one right now. Maybe it's before 5...once again, don't care what you think. I am happy with my clear, bubbly glass filled to the brim on my left. I highly recommend ditching the stigma and going for it yourself :)
Other grateful moments:
- Productive hour blocks at work. Since it's a holiday week, things are coming at me in waves. I'll get a TON done, take a break. Get a ton done, take a break. And so on and so forth. Not complaining.
- First lettuce harvest! Our lettuce blend and chard is ready to be picked, so I grabbed a handful of each today while they were perky and crisp. Salad for dinner at The Little Yellow House in Casper!
- My softer body. Yep, I'm out of shape. I am soft. I am starting to see little bits of cellulite. And I don't care. I am so happy with my body. I know myself well enough at this point in my life to know I go through seasons and cycles. I'll find myself sweating every day again at some point, but for now, I like a little more curve and a little more indulgence. :)
- Puppy treats! I love watching them eat their juice pulp popsicles. They go to TOWN on them and it makes my heart happy.
Until next time,
